Heart Attack

Also called myocardial  infarction; heart attack is a serious medical emergency in which the supply of blood to the heart is suddenly blocked, usually by a blood clot. The lack of blood to the heart can seriously damage the heart muscles. If left untreated, the muscles begins to die.


  1. Coronary heart disease
  2. Smoking
  3. High-fat diet
  4. Diabetes
  5. Obesity
  6. Age above 45 yrs
  7. Male (more prone)

Symptoms –

  1. Chest pain
    1. feel like chest is being pressed or squeezed by a heavy object/uncomfortable pressure
    2. pain can radiate from the chest to the jaw, neck, arms and back
  2. Shortness of breath
  3. Overwhelming feeling of anxiety, Fear, Denial
  4. Cold, clammy skin
  5. Nausea, vomiting


  1. Medication (to dissolve any blood clots)
  2. Surgery (to widen the coronary artery)
